B-ultrasound technology forms images through the propagation and echo of ultrasound waves, which can obtain imaging information of internal tissues and organs of animals without damaging them. In pig breeding management, backfat and eye muscle are important indicators for evaluating pig body fat and muscle levels, directly related to pig growth performance and meat quality. By measuring the area of backfat and eye muscles, the growth of pigs can be objectively evaluated, guiding feeding management and adjusting feed formulas, thereby improving breeding efficiency.

 

Firstly, we will prepare a veterinary B-ultrasound machine that can measure the backfat eye muscles. To perform B-ultrasound testing, corresponding equipment and environment need to be prepared. Under the guidance of a veterinarian, select appropriate ultrasound machines and probes to ensure the normal operation of the equipment and clear image display. At the same time, it is necessary to provide a relatively quiet environment for pigs to reduce their tension and fear, in order to ensure the accuracy and stability of testing.

 

Next, perform B-ultrasound testing on pigs. Fix the pig to be tested in the appropriate position, keep its body stable, and then gently move the B-ultrasound probe along the pig's back and eyes to obtain clear images. By adjusting the parameters of the B-ultrasound machine, such as frequency and gain, the image quality is optimized to ensure accurate measurement of backfat and eye muscle area.

Use the built-in software of the B-ultrasound machine or professional image processing software to process and analyze the images, and measure the area of backfat and eye muscles. Based on the measurement results, the body fat and muscle levels of pigs can be evaluated, providing scientific basis for feeding and management.

 

By using ultrasound technology to measure the backfat and eye muscle area of pigs, accurate monitoring and evaluation of pig growth can be achieved, guiding breeding management and feed formula adjustment, and improving breeding efficiency and meat quality.
